Transpersonal and Eclectic Therapy

Experience

My fundamental approach to therapy is transpersonal - meaning that I believe in the body, mind, spirit connection, in the innate wholeness and wisdom of each individual, and that “problems” or crises arise as an impetus to growth.  Or, if you will, they are the “soul’s call to healing.”

As a transpersonal therapist, I view the therapeutic relationship as providing a foundation of understanding, respect, warmth, and genuineness from which the client can realize their own unique potential. It is my job to be a highly sensitive, empathetic, and accurate listener so that the client may understand themselves more fully and take responsibility for directing their own healing and destiny.

The techniques I use are borrowed from many therapeutic orientations including gestalt, trauma work, addictions treatment models including CBT and DBT, somatic psychotherapy, art and music therapy, and treatment for disordered eating.

My eclectic approach is intended to allow the therapy to be tailored to the needs of each client.   My work is also compatible with 12-step addiction recovery programs and contemplative paths.
