When I first heard her sing, her voice reached into my soul and her words poured into my heart.
Robin truly did arrive on this planet with a song on her lips and the gift to sing it.

As a little girl, Robin soaked up music like a sponge, memorizing and performing the entire soundtrack for Jesus Christ Superstar.  The variety of other influences ranged from her brother’s Alice Cooper, her sister’s America and Dan Fogelberg, to her dad’s Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, and the Grand Ole Opry.
Robin was driven by musical diversity - at its best.

Her brother and sister still tease her about singing in her sleep and answering questions with a song.

The first 20 years followed the traditional path; a degree in Political Science from Wellesley College, working on Capitol Hill, followed by a job as a journalist in Boston.  But the songs kept playing in her heart and as the Universe would have it, two blocks down the street from the newspaper she wrote for was the Berklee College of Music.

She had to continue doing what she loved, singing and writing her truth and so, she finally started listening to her deepest desires.  Robin’s gift was not lost on the faculty at Berklee and she won a grant to attend the school for her songwriting.  This was the watershed, the turning point where Robin made the decision to be a musician and bring healing to those who need it through her songs.

Berklee inspired her and gave her the skills to jump out of the box and into life as a professional musician.

Nashville was the next stop.  She surrounded herself with the songwriting greats.  This is also where The Barbie Syndrome was born; a 4-part women’s acapella performance-art band which gained great respect and a dedicated following in the Nashville music scene.  They combined all of their talents into creating great harmonies, outrageous humor, and memorable stage antics.

During the fun of the Barbie Syndrome, Robin met her long-time music partner and husband, David Kiefer.  This was the birth of Naked Pop and another large-scale adventure began.  They started off played gigs to UT fans in Tennessee, vacationers on Hilton Head Island, hikers at the Grand Canyon, and colleges in Texas and Ohio.

Unbeknownst to them an agent acquired their press kit and called with the question, “Would you like to go to Seoul, Korea?”  A door to a wonderful world opened and Naked Pop hopped aboard the friendly skies to play music at Five Star Hotels in Seoul, Tokyo, Osaka, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Maui.

The travel and the chance to get to know so many lovely humans around the globe was remarkable and yet she began to feel disconnected from her own creativity and cutoff from the whisperings of her soul.

She had traded the inspiration and healing of writing and performing her own songs for the excitement of pleasing audiences with the most-requested pop songs of the day.  Sadly, Robin and Dave decided to part ways to pursue their own individual callings.  Robin chose to return to the states to recommit to the path of personal development.  Naked Pop’s last gig was at the Osaka Hilton in August of 2000 ending 9 years of partnership, world travel, and music.

In order to bring all of her talents into all of what she wanted to do, Robin briefly put music aside and moved to Boulder, Colorado, to earn a Masters degree in Transpersonal Psychology. Boulder is where she has grown roots, become more deeply of service to others, and has connected with a spiritual community.

This is also where music came flooding back into her life as a means of fulfilling that promise of service.  New songs and new dreams came welling up in her soul and came out in the songs she sings to crowds struck by the beauty of all she is.

In 2005, Robin released her own solo CD, recorded by Grammy award winning producer Tom Wasinger, entitled Back Into the Fire.  The world was then given the gift of Mystic Highway, also in 2005. This was a collaborative music project between Robin and Sarah Kelton in the genre of soulful folk. Mystic Highway found a following stretching around the world and played to packed houses across Holland, England, Ireland, Scotland, not to mention Denver and Boulder. In July of 2007 the culmination of their visions resulted in Velvet Bridge featuring powerfully honest lyrics and harmonically rich melodies.

In 2007 Robin also recorded her much acclaimed Songs of Hope, which is a sampling of the music she performs in her inspirational speaking to youth and adult audiences.

Robin is now singing her truth as the inspirational source for women in recovery, She has enchanted and inspired many audiences throughout the Boulder/Denver area and has been the invited performer at Recovery conferences throughout the U.S. and Canada.  Today Robin’s music is direct and powerful, infused with the wisdom of her life’s journey while incorporating the jazz, folk, and R&B influences from her years of performing the West’s most loved music.
